UK Hub for Quantum Enabled Position, Navigation & Timing

Supporting and building a community of skilled and supported researchers is at the heart of the QEPNT Hub.

The QEPNT team were delighted to welcome researchers from around the UK to the Informatics Forum, University of Edinburgh on Tuesday 24th of March.

The audience were delivered updates from the Hub's research areas of Timing, Inertial Sensors, Ranging and Hybrid Systems and discussions focused on the progress being made to develop robust systems, offering superior stability and precision to current navigation and timing technologies.

Professor Doug Paul, Principal Investigator of the Hub gave a detailed talk on the importance of the impact of the technologies the Hub is creating.

With GNSS jamming and spoofing attacks on the rise, the Hub is leading and supporting the community, ecosystem and technologies required for the UK to be a global leader in the provision of resilient PNT systems for GNSS-denied environments.

Public Relations expert and former Financial Times journalist, Toby Moore gave the audience advice on engaging with the media to communicate research to wide audiences.

A poster session ended the day, where researchers from universities from around the UK gave updates on their current work.

We had a great day of discussion and making new connections and we’re looking forward to growing and supporting the Hub’s community of researchers at future events.
