Dr Kevin Gallacher is Lecturer in Electronic and Photonic Devices at the University of Glasgow James Watt School of Engineering

Kevin is an expert in developing novel silicon photonics devices and waveguide platforms for molecular and atomic sensing applications.

He works within the James Watt Nano-Fabrication Centre (JWNC). This state-of-the-art cleanroom facility contains over £35 million worth of nano-fabrication tools and currently houses > £50 million of active research grants.

As a STEM ambassador, Kevin wants to help inspire the next generation of scientists and engineers. He has exhibited at public outreach events such as the National Quantum Technologies Showcase and the Glasgow Science Centre.
