Gerald Buller

Gerald Buller is a Professor of Physics at Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh. He is the Director of the Integrated Quantum Networks Hub which commenced in December 2024.
He was previously the Principal Investigator of the Quantum Communications Hub. He also held an EPSRC Established Career Fellowship in quantum technology.
Gerald has researched quantum communications, quantum-enhanced imaging and single-photon detection for well over thirty years. He was Co-Chair of the international Single Photon Workshop 2024 held in Edinburgh in November 2024.
In 2002, Gerald co-founded Helia Photonics Ltd., where he remains a non-executive Director.
