Prof Paul Garside was invited to attend the Scotland Malawi Partnership Anthu Pamodzi (People Together) Snapshots of Scotland and Malawi Building a better World Exhibition which was held recently at Edinburgh City Chambers. The invitation only event was attended by the Scotland Malawi Partnership honorary patron The Princess Royal. Included in the exhibition was a photograph of key personnel from University of Glasgow and Kamuzu University of Health Sciences who were responsible for establishing the state-of-the-art Blantyre Blantyre Research Facility in Malawi. The evocative photograph was chosen from many submitted as a perfect example of the vibrant connection and outstanding research collaboration between Scotland and Malawi. Other photos included in the exhibition were from St Andrews Clinic for Children (STACC) an organisation that are building a new clinic in Masambuka, Malawi. Also attending the event was his excellency Dr Thomas John Bisika and Justice Agnes Patemba who are the Malawi High Commissioner and Deputy High Commissioner to the UK.

Prof Paul Garside said: It was a great pleasure to attend the 20th Anniversary celebration for Scotland Malawi Partnership which has been pivotal in supporting so many key relationships between the countries over the last two decades. I was particularly pleased to be able to represent both UofG and St Andrews Clinics for Children (STACC) and their contributions to supporting healthcare partnerships between Malawi and Scotland’
