Glasgow’s Climate Plan is currently being updated, and during this consultation period, we want to hear your views. The plan highlights what action needs to be taken across the city to help reduce emissions and prepare the city for the impacts of climate change. It prioritises the wider benefits that the people of Glasgow will experience as a result of climate action, including reducing child poverty, improving the conditions of buildings, creating jobs, improving mental and physical health and more. The Climate Plan and its supporting documents can be accessed here.
The Climate Plan is for the whole city, therefore we need to make sure that the plan includes the views of as wide a range of people as possible. Therefore the Climate Plan is now entering into its consultation and engagement stage to provide this opportunity to everyone. The consultation will run from mid-December to mid-February and you can access the details of the consultation, including the online questions we are asking, here.
Alongside the online questions, there will also be a series of engagement opportunities and events across the city. Keep an eye on the Glasgow City Council social media for details, or look out for information posters in local libraries and sports centres. There will also be a variety of resources available to help everyone have conversations about the plan which will be available early 2026.
If you would like to find out more about the plan, talk with us about an engagement opportunity or find out more about the extra resources available, you can get in touch with the Glasgow City Council Sustainability Team at Sustainability@glasgow.gov.uk.
